- Nury Feria, award-winning founding principal of the multi-faceted Miami-based
Design Perceptions, Inc., is a long-time state-licensed interior designer
and a Professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
- The recipient
of more than two dozen honors to date, Nury Feria has received an unprecedented nine “Designer of the Year”
awards from the Interior Design Guild
of South Florida, as well as five “Design Excellence” awards from ASID, two awards for lighting design from the Illuminating Engineering Society, plus
both a “FAME” award from the
Builders Association of South Florida and a furniture design award in the
“Florida Style” competition. She has also been honored by awards from both Exito and South
Florida magazines.
- In 1997, when
Florida International
University’s celebrated its Silver
Anniversary, Nury Feria received an Outstanding Alumni
Awards on behalf of its School
of Architecture. In 1999 she received a prestigious “Buddy Award”
from the Bud Merle Foundation for her “career-long design excellence and
contributions to both the design industry and community.”
- Many of
Nury’s residential and commercial installations have been featured in
trade publications such as Interior Design, Design South, Hospitality Design,
Designer/Specifier, Designing with Tile, Design Resources, Interiors and
Sources and Florida Designer’s Quarterly, as well as in national consumer
publications like Time Magazine, Casa & Estilo Internacional, Cosmopolitan en Espanol, Vanidades,
Burke’s Peerage and Los Angeles Times – and, regionally, also
in Florida Architecture, Florida
Design, New Miami, Miami Exclusive, Selecta, South Florida, The Good Life,
Haut Décor, On Design and Ideas, including numerous personal profiles in additional publications.
- Nury Feria,
who graduated from Florida International University in 1976 with a degree in Interior Design
and within two years inaugurated her own interior design and
space-planning firm, also continues to make frequent TV and public speaking
appearances, both in the United
States and abroad.
